You can also mash rutabaga, potatoes, and carrots together with a lot of fresh pepper and some butter. So good.

I’ve actually never had turnips before but oh my goodness, with broccoli, potatoes, and breadcrumbs I could be easily convinced to try it. I found your blog and love it!

Don’t be sketched out by rutabaga! If I can enjoy a crazy looking vegetable like that, anyone can. Truly! It’s surprisingly easy to work with, but it does take a little while to cook and soften up, so make sure you slice it into small pieces!

Hmm, Thanksgiving at my aunt’s house? There would be a few reasons for that….

And as to that recipe, I was flipping through that exact magazine just last night looking for birthday dinner ideas. I almost circled that dish as a meal for sometime later, but was sketched out by the rutabaga. But man, there are going to be some fabulous dinners this summer when I have access to a kitchen!! Stupid communal kitchens in dorms…
